This month of September is dedicated to the Seven of Sorrows.  This devotion dates back to the 12th century, when it made its appearance in monastic circles under the influence of St. Anselm and St. Bernard.  The Cistercians and then the Servites undertook to propagate and became widespread in the 14th and 15th centuries. DAY 18 – VIRGIN MOST POWERFUL, PRAY THAT WE RECEIVE THE FRUIT OF PEACE

GOD’S WORD

“The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.” (Psalm 29:11)

“But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.” (Psalm 37:11)

“My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.” (Proverbs 3:1-2)

“For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” (Romans 8:6)

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13)
